Hi Emma, you could use orzo if you prefer but it cooks much more quickly than pearl barley. We haven’t tested the recipe using orzo, but would say you’ll only need to add it to the stew for the last 20 – 30 minutes of cooking until it’s just tender. Hope this helps!
