A tagine is a North African dish, named after the earthenware pot it is cooked in. Don't worry if you don't have a tagine, you can cook this dish in a covered pan in the oven like we have and it will taste just as good! This is our take on the traditional dish of chicken, garlic and Moroccan spices.

Hints & Tips

Below we added some of our communities most common hints and tips. We hope you find them useful.

Be sure to use sliced peaches in natural juice not in syrup as this will affect the calories. The leftover Moroccan spice mix can be stored in an airtight container ready for next time!

Amazing
It was so delicious! We used beef instead of chicken. I added extra chilli for more spice, it was amazing!
Even better when made a day ahead.
I love to make this recipe a day ahead. The flavours blend beautifully when kept overnight. I follow the method until I have added the final ingredients, cool, and the next day reheat and complete the final cook.

Hints & Tips

Below we added some of our communities most common hints and tips. We hope you find them useful.

You could use frozen fish instead of fresh - just follow the manufacturer's instructions for cooking.

A taste of the sea in bowl form!
You may need to add a little more water or milk while the fish cooks so keep an eye on this.
My ingredient swap/alternative
I had no cream cheese so used 2 tbsp of fat free greek yoghurt. I am trying to reduce my carbs so only used 250gms of potato. I also used Whiting instead of cod, more sustainable. Sprinkle a pinch of old bay or smoked paprika when serving.

Our take on a traditional Jewish dish, this soup uses chicken broth as its base and cooks the vegetables and chicken all together to create a really great depth of flavour. Matzo balls are a dumpling often eaten during Jewish Passover, and we've used the traditional matzo meal for this recipe to give the dish that authentic taste.

Hints & Tips

Below we added some of our communities most common hints and tips. We hope you find them useful.

If you wanted to make the kcal count even lower, then you could use panko breadcrumbs instead of matzo meal to achieve the same fluffy results for only 168 kcal per serving.

This Soup equals a hug in a bowl!
Really grease your hands with the spray oil for the Matzo meal, it is very sticky! It is a very straightforward and deliciously tasty recipe!

Hints & Tips

Below we added some of our communities most common hints and tips. We hope you find them useful.

Swap This

Swap the tinned chickpeas for tinned white beans, such as haricot or cannellini.

Smoked paprika and smoked sweet paprika (used here) are the same thing. Hot smoked paprika has a fiery chilli kick so only use if you love heat.

One of the easiest recipe's to do
Trying to eat less meat so thought we'd try this. Put it all in slow cooker used leeks instead of onion's and added cumin.
